vineyard: Brunnberg
Brunnen – the name is programme. Located south-east of the town Kirchberg, the vineyard Brunnberg lies on natural springs, in other words wells. Not only did these springs lay the foundation for the first settlement in the region but also, for planting the first vines, which are just about as old as Gut Oberstockstall.
Facing south, Brunnberg’s vines are exposed to sun all day, whereby constant and cool winds blow off the accumulated heat. The vineyard’s massive layers of loess are the foundation of old Veltliner selections that were planted by my grandfathers Fritz Salomon and Josef Jamek more than 50 years ago.
